5.8 magnitude earthquake strikes coast of Costa Rica

A moderate 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck off the southern coast of Costa Rica on Monday, shaking buildings in the capital, but there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries. The U.S. Geological Survey said the epicenter of the quake was 46 miles (75 km) south of San Jose, just offshore near the port of Puerto Quepos

5.5 magnitude earthquake shakes northern California
5.5 magnitude earthquake struck northern California 50 km (31 miles) from Eureka, Ca. and 352 km from Sacramento according to the USGS. The earthquake is the second to strike the region in 24 hours. On Sunday, seismometers recorded a 4.4 magnitude tremor with an epicenter near Cobb Mountain.
