Slightly off-topic I know. Deep down and far away at the south pole something is there that should not be there. There is a lake hidden under two miles of ice that has lain undisturbed for 14 million years. The lake is called 'Vostok' by the Russians. Vostok means East. It is a warm lake , heated by polar thermal springs and has life in it that has not been seen for millions of years. A unique and uncontaminated by humans it is a world from the time before humans began!?! This is fantastical..but what is odd is that there is a gigantic and unaccounted for magnetic anomaly down there too. It could be some strange crack in the tectonic plates that allow a magnetic vortex to appear. Unfortunatly the science doesn't quite add up on that as an 'offical' explanation. But there is something else that would produce such a magnetic peculiarity....a large and ancient city with structures made of metals. As I write a race is on down there - suddenly the Russians are desperate to break through the ice before the dark winter hits and the temperature drops. For some reason they cannot wait until spring and are working day and night to send a thermnal lance through the ice roof of the world no one has seen. Just saying....:)
I am waiting impatiently to see what they are going to find. Too many exciting thing going on all around us!
And of course this reminds me of: ...Byrd, who had flown across the south pole as the first human in 1929, was already at this time a living legend, a national hero to the Americans and most of the polar researchers. In 1938 he still was civilian. This invitation to the Germans could have been a typical irony of history, for nearly ten years later exactly this Richard E. Byrd -- then in the rank as US NAVY admiral -- got the instruction to destroy the secret German Antarctic base 211. To do this, he was given the command of the biggest military force on the Antarctic ice ever seen, 13 ships and nearly 4000 men staff. That mysterious operation which is said to have ended in a catastrophical failure. ...........
...In 1947, Admiral Richard E. Byrd led 4,000 military troops from the U.S., Britain and Australia in an invasion of Antarctica [Operation Highjump and follow-up], but encountered heavy resistance from Nazi "flying saucers" and had to call off the invasion. A Rear-Admiral who was in that invasion has retired in Texas, and said he was shocked when he read the "Fire From The Sky" material. He knew there were a lot of aircraft and rocket shoot-downs but did not realize the situation was so bad. .............
The invasion of ANTARCTICA consisted of three battle groups from Norfolk, VA, on Dec. 2, 1946. They were led by Byrd's command ship, the ice-breaker "Northwind," and consisted of the catapult ship "Pine Island," the destroyer "Brownsen," the aircraft-carrier "Phillipines Sea," the U.S. submarine "Sennet," two support vessels "Yankee" and "Merrick," and two tankers "Canisted" and "Capacan," the destroyer "Henderson" and a floatplane ship "Currituck." A British-Norwegian force and a Russian force, and I believe some Australian and Canadian forces were also involved.
On March 5, 1947 the "El Mercurio" newspaper of Santiago, Chile, had a headline article "On Board the Mount Olympus on the High Seas" which quoted Byrd in an interview with Lee van Atta: "Adm. Byrd declared today that it was imperative for the United States to initiate immediate defense measures against hostile regions. The admiral further stated that he didn't want to frighten anyone unduly but that it was a bitter reality that in case of a new war the continental United States would be attacked by flying objects which could fly from pole to pole at incredible speeds. ..............

Yes I am very curious about what they will find down there. It is also 'odd' that a lot of activity seems to involve the HAARP program being used to 'look deep' into the earth. As a result of this scientists have also found a deep and massive cavern which has heat and a electromagnetic signature fourty miles under the ground in Canada???
I love the Admiral Byrd stories - again you really do your research! Point 211 has been an interest for a long time. The trick is to try and see what is disinformation and what is truth put on full public show knowing we will dismiss it because it doesn't seem like a secret.
